Mobile device testing documentation

Touch, sensor, orientation and public-IP checks for phones and tablets, using standard web APIs.

  • 12 documented tools
  • 0 downloads required

Overview

Test a phone or tablet's touchscreen, rotation, motion sensors, vibration motor and compass from the browser, and look up the public IP address your connection presents. Sensor access is gated: it depends on the hardware being present, the browser exposing the API, and on iOS an explicit permission tap. Each page states which of those apply.

All 12 mobile tools

Which of these ask for a permission

Most tools here need nothing at all. These ones cannot work until your browser grants access, and each asks only when you start the test:

  • Mobile Device Test — A thirteen-item capability scan of your phone — touch, sensors, screen, camera, microphone, audio, network, battery, haptics and wake lock — in one page.
  • Gyroscope Test — Live X, Y and Z rotation rate in rad/s and deg/s, a scrolling activity graph, a guided three-axis test and a five-second zero-motion check.
  • Compass Test — Live heading in degrees with a 16-point direction label, an eight-direction target sweep, a five-second stability check and a figure-eight calibration guide.
  • Permissions Test — See the real granted / prompt / denied state of every browser permission, and request each one on demand.

Note

A permission prompt is a browser feature, not a sign-up. Denying it only stops that one test; nothing else on the site changes.
