Open CS2 Bind GeneratorWhat is this tool?
Counter-Strike 2 reads its keyboard configuration from a plain text file. Writing that file by hand means remembering command names and slot numbers; this page lets you click a key on a visual keyboard and pick the command instead.
Binds are grouped by what they do: Buy, Grenades, Weapons / Slots, Communication, Utility, Practice and Custom. Mouse buttons and the scroll wheel are bindable too — Mouse 3, Mouse 4, Mouse 5, Wheel ↑ and Wheel ↓.
The output is a finished autoexec.cfg you copy out of the page. Nothing on your computer is touched — the tool generates and validates text, and you decide what to do with it.
How to use it
- Click a key on the diagramThe bind editor opens for that key. Pick a category, choose the command, then press Save Bind. Remove Bind clears one; Reset clears the layout.
- Work through your loadoutBuy binds, grenade slots, communication keys and practice commands can all sit on the same layout. The diagram shows what is assigned so you can see gaps and clashes at a glance.
- Copy the generated configThe autoexec panel builds the file as you go. Copy it out and save it as
autoexec.cfg. - Put the file in the right folder
SteamsteamappscommonCounter-Strike Global Offensivegamecsgocfgautoexec.cfg. If you already have one, merge rather than overwrite — the tool cannot know what your existing file contains. - Make CS2 run it at launchRight-click CS2 in Steam → Properties → General → Launch Options and add
+exec autoexec.cfg.
What the results mean
What the generator will produce
One key to one action. Individual weapon and grenade buy commands, direct grenade equip slots such as slot7 and slot8, single-action jump binds including mouse-wheel jump, and push-to-talk, ping and clutch mute toggles.
What it refuses, and why
Multi-command jumpthrow aliases, null binds and Snap Tap style counter-strafe emulation, desubtick movement aliases, and automated single-key drop-and-buy loops. Valve banned multi-action aliases and hardware input automation in August 2024, and the page carries a section explaining the refusal rather than hiding it.
Why one bind can buy two weapons
A single buy command can name more than one item because CS2 resolves it against your side and your money in one action. That is not a macro — it is one command doing one thing, which is why it stays on the allowed side of the line.
Practice binds
Commands such as spawning bots or showing grenade trajectories require sv_cheats on your own offline server. They are grouped separately because they will not work in matchmaking.
Limits worth knowing
A browser can only report what the platform gives it. These are the honest boundaries of this page, so a result is never read as more than it is.
- The tool generates text. It cannot write to your Steam folder, cannot read your existing autoexec, and has no access to your Steam account or a running game.
- It will not generate automation binds. That is a deliberate refusal documented on the page, not a missing feature — the commands Valve prohibits are simply unavailable.
- Whether a bind is permitted is Valve's call and it can change. The tool reflects the rules as published; it cannot guarantee a future policy.
- Practice commands need sv_cheats on your own server and will do nothing on official matchmaking.
Tips
- Keep W, A, S, D and your primary fire clear of extra binds. Overloading a movement key is the fastest way to lose a round to your own configuration.
- Merge into an existing autoexec rather than replacing it, or you will lose crosshair, viewmodel and video settings you had already tuned.
- Share the layout link rather than the file when you want a teammate to see your setup — it is easier to read and there is nothing to download.
Troubleshooting
My binds do not load when CS2 starts
Either the file is in the wrong folder or the launch option is missing. Confirm the path ends in gamecsgocfgautoexec.cfg and that +exec autoexec.cfg is in Launch Options.
Will this overwrite my existing autoexec?
Not by itself — the page cannot touch your files. When you save, either merge the new lines into your current file or keep the old one under a different name.
A buy bind does nothing in a match
Buy commands only work in the buy zone during the buy period, and some items are unavailable on your side. Deathmatch and other modes with automatic loadouts ignore them entirely.
Why is there no jumpthrow bind?
Because Valve prohibits multi-command aliases on official servers. The page's refusal section explains it in full, including what happened in August 2024.
Ready to run it?
Build binds on a visual keyboard and export a clean autoexec.cfg that stays inside Valve's rules. Nothing to install, and it opens in this browser.
