About Audio Testing Tools

Detailed information on how these browser-based diagnostics work and why hardware testing matters.

01 / OVERVIEW

What is Audio Testing?

Audio testing evaluates the sound reproduction capabilities of your speakers, headphones, and soundcard output, as well as the recording sensitivity and latency of your microphone.

02 / OVERVIEW

Why Test Your Audio Equipment?

Improper channel routing (reversed left/right stereo), damaged driver membranes, and bluetooth latency can severely ruin music listening, voice calls, and competitive gaming audio cues. Testing ensures your audio hardware produces balanced, distortion-free sound.

03 / OVERVIEW

How Does It Work?

Using the browser's built-in Web Audio API, our tools synthesize mathematically pure sine waves, channel isolation panners, and real-time frequency analyzers without relying on compressed audio files.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I test if my left and right channels are reversed?
Open the Left Right Audio Test or Stereo Test and click the Left and Right playback buttons. Verify that sound designated for the left channel only plays from the left earbud or speaker.
Can I test my microphone without recording software?
Yes. The Microphone Test requests microphone permission to provide real-time decibel volume meters, live playback monitoring, and frequency analysis directly in the browser.
Why can't I hear frequencies below 40Hz in the bass test?
Most compact laptop speakers and small earbuds physically cannot reproduce deep sub-bass below 40–50 Hz. To hear sub-bass tones, use full-sized headphones or a dedicated subwoofer.
