Acceptance of Terms
These Terms & Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your use of the Real Test Keyboard website (the “Site”). By accessing or using the Site you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Site.
The Site is provided free of charge as a hobby project. Nothing in these Terms grants you any commercial right over the Site, its content or its code.
Use of the Website
You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes consistent with these Terms. In particular, you agree not to:
- Use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, its hosting platform, or any related system or network.
- Interfere with or disrupt the Site, its security, or the experience of other visitors (for example, by sending automated requests at a rate that exceeds normal human use).
- Use the Site to transmit malicious code, phishing material, or content that is intentionally misleading or harmful.
- Attempt to extract or reverse-engineer the Site’s source code except as permitted by applicable open-source licences.
Use of Our Tools
The Site provides a small set of browser-based utilities (the “Tools”). The current set includes the keyboard tester, the typing speed test, the documentation, the blog and the contact directory. Each Tool does one thing and the Site does its best to make the Tools reliable and accurate. The Tools are provided as-is; they are not a substitute for professional advice, and they are not warranted to be fit for any particular purpose.
Some Tools save small pieces of data (preferences, personal best) in your browser’s local storage. The Site does not see this data and has no way to recover it. Clearing your browser’s site data for the Site will reset these preferences to their defaults.
User Responsibilities
You are responsible for the way you use the Site and for any content you submit to the Site owner (for example, in a message sent through the contact channels listed on theContact page). You agree not to submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, infringing, hateful, harassing, or that contains malware.
The Site owner may, at their sole discretion, block or remove content or access that violates these Terms. Where required by law, the Site owner will explain the reason for any such action.
Intellectual Property
The Site, including its design, source code, written content, logos and graphics, is the intellectual property of the Site owner or is used under licence. All rights not expressly granted in these Terms are reserved.
You may view, link to, and use the Site for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may quote brief excerpts from the Site (for example, in a forum post or a review) provided that you credit the Site and link back to the source.
Third-party trademarks (such as platform names and brand marks) are the property of their respective owners and are used on the Site only for identification and reference. Their appearance does not imply endorsement.
Third-Party Services and Links
The Site relies on a small number of third-party services (hosting, web font delivery, optional translation) described in the Privacy Policy. These services are governed by their own terms. The Site owner is not responsible for the practices of any third party.
The Site may link to other websites. Once you follow a link to a third-party website, these Terms no longer apply. We recommend reading the terms and privacy policy of any third-party site you visit.
Availability of the Service
The Site owner may, at their sole discretion and without notice or liability, modify, suspend or discontinue the Site or any part of it. Where reasonable, the Site owner will try to give advance notice of planned changes.
Disclaimers
The Site and the Tools are provided as-is andas-available, without warranty of any kind, either express or implied, including without limitation warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
The Site owner does not warrant that the Tools will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the results obtained from using the Tools (including test reports and typing-test personal bests) will be accurate or reliable.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event will the Site owner, its contributors, or its hosting provider be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits or business, arising out of or in connection with your use of (or inability to use) the Site, the Tools or these Terms.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
Changes to the Terms
These Terms may be updated from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page for at least 14 days before the new Terms take effect. Continuing to use the Site after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws applicable to the Site owner’s place of business. Where the Site owner has not yet declared a place of business for the purposes of these Terms, the governing law is the law of the place where the Site owner ordinarily resides. The configuration value for this field can be added by the Site owner in a single place once it is determined.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms will be resolved in the competent courts of the same place.
