01Where the autoexec goes
In Counter-Strike 2, custom configuration files are placed in your user config directory inside your Steam installation:
Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\game\csgo\cfg\autoexec.cfg
To ensure CS2 automatically runs your file every time the game launches, right-click CS2 in Steam > Properties > General > Launch Options and add:
+exec autoexec.cfg
Note: This browser tool runs entirely client-side; it generates and validates the text file without modifying your local computer files directly.
02What this tool refuses to generate and why
Valve enforces strict input automation policies on official matchmaking servers. In August 2024, Valve explicitly banned multi-action aliases and hardware automation:
ALLOWED (1 Key → 1 Action)- Individual weapon & grenade buy commands
- Direct grenade equip slots (
slot7, slot8, etc.) - Single-action jump binds (e.g. mouse wheel jump)
- Push-to-talk, ping, and clutch mute toggles
REFUSED (Automation / Macro Exploits)- Multi-command jumpthrow aliases (sub-tick jumpthrow macros)
- Null binds / Snap Tap counter-strafe emulation
- Desubtick movement aliases
- Automated single-key weapon drop & buy loops
03Why one bind buys two weapons
In Counter-Strike, several key slots are shared between Terrorists and Counter-Terrorists (such as the main assault rifle slot, where T uses the AK-47 and CT uses the M4A1-S or M4A4).
By binding two weapons together with a semicolon:
bind "kp_1" "buy ak47; buy m4a1_silencer"
The game server automatically purchases the valid weapon for your active side and ignores the opposing team's gun without displaying an error or wasting money.
04Practice binds & offline commands
Commands like noclip, sv_rethrow_last_grenade, and bot_place require sv_cheats 1 enabled on a private practice server or local match.
They are safely marked with OFFLINE ONLY so you can practice lineups without worrying about invalid commands breaking competitive matchmaking.
05Why there is no Valorant version
Counter-Strike 2 provides a fully exposed, client-side configuration console with scriptable autoexec files. Valorant, by design, manages all key bindings inside an internal proprietary GUI stored in cloud profiles and Vanguard anti-cheat environments, without text `.cfg` file support.
This tool is specifically tailored to the deep console flexibility of CS2.
When you click Share link, the generator compiles your entire keybind configuration into URL-safe query parameters. No user accounts, database entries, or server logins are needed.
You can bookmark the link, share it with teammates on Discord, or preserve it across device reinstallations.
07Frequently asked questions
Does this tool need my Steam account or CS2 running?
No. It assembles a plain text config in your browser. It never signs in to Steam, never reads your existing files and never launches the game.
Will it overwrite the autoexec I already have?
It cannot. The generator only produces text for you to copy or download, so you decide whether to replace your current autoexec.cfg or merge the new lines into it.
Which keys should I avoid binding?
Keys the game already needs for core movement and menus, and any key pair your keyboard cannot report at the same time. Check the second case with the Anti-Ghosting Test before you commit to a layout.
Do buy binds work in every game mode?
They are ordinary console commands, so they run wherever the command itself is available. A buy bind simply does nothing in a mode that has no buy menu.
Can I reuse the same file on another PC?
Yes. The output contains no machine-specific paths, so copying autoexec.cfg into the same cfg folder on the other installation is enough.
