Yes. Hold several keys down together and each one lights up independently, so you can check key rollover and anti-ghosting — useful for gaming boards where combinations like W + A + Shift must all register at once. If a key stops responding while others are held, your keyboard has a rollover limit on that combination.

Yes. Modifier keys (Shift, Ctrl, Alt, Command/Windows) are tested like any other key. For Tab, Space, the arrow keys and the F-row, turn on Capture keys in the toolbar so the browser doesn't scroll, change focus or fire shortcuts while you test them. F5, F11 and F12 are left to the browser on purpose so you keep refresh and fullscreen.

If a key never lights up, first turn on Capture keys — some keys like Tab, Space and the arrows are otherwise handled by the browser. If it still doesn't register, the key may have a hardware fault, or it may be one that doesn't send a standard signal (such as Fn, or some laptop media and brightness keys). A key that works here but not in your app points to a software issue rather than the keyboard.

A worn or dirty mechanical switch can register a single press as two — that's chatter (also called double-firing). The tester times the gap between a key's release and its next press; anything under 40 milliseconds is flagged as a possible fault and the key is highlighted in red.

Matching is done on the physical key position (KeyboardEvent.code), not the character it produces. That means the right cell lights up on QWERTY, AZERTY, QWERTZ and other layouts — the character shown by your OS doesn't affect the test.

Full is the complete 104-key board with a number pad. TKL (tenkeyless, 87 keys) drops the number pad. 60% (61 keys) also drops the function row and navigation cluster. Pick the one that matches your keyboard, and use the ANSI/ISO toggle to match your Enter and left-Shift shape.
