What is this tool?

The 3D Rendering Performance Test executes a real-time WebGL/WebGL2 graphics pipeline directly in your browser. It renders procedural geometric meshes (tori, spheres, and cubes) with dynamic Blinn-Phong specular illumination and ground plane reflections.

The test measures high-precision frame delivery timestamps via performance.now(). It computes real-time FPS, average FPS, 1% Low FPS, frame intervals in milliseconds, frame variance (jitter), and pacing stability percentages.

All graphics shaders execute natively on your device's graphics card. Zero synthetic or fabricated metrics: no fake temperatures, fake VRAM, or fake scores.

How to use it

  1. Configure your benchmark parametersSelect geometric workload (Light, Medium, Heavy, Extreme), scene lighting complexity (Low, Medium, High, Very High), render scale (50% to 150%), and benchmark duration (Free Run, 15s, 30s, 60s).
  2. Start the 3D benchmarkClick 'START 3D BENCHMARK'. Your graphics processor immediately begins executing compiled GLSL vertex and fragment shaders in real time.
  3. Observe live performance & pacingWatch the real-time frame rate, frame delivery interval, 1% lows, and dual SVG timelines tracking frame delivery stability and pacing.
  4. Review and export benchmark resultsWhen the benchmark timer completes or when you click Stop, examine your comprehensive performance tier rating (A+ to D), detailed metrics, and export the summary as text or JSON.

What the results mean

Real-Time FPS & Average FPS

The instantaneous and session-wide mean frame rate delivered by your graphics processor under the active 3D shader workload.

1% Low FPS & Micro-Stutter

The 99th-percentile longest frame delivery intervals inverted to FPS, identifying stutter caused by garbage collection or driver hitches.

Frame Time & Jitter

The precise time in milliseconds required to render each 3D frame, along with the standard deviation of frame delivery times.

Pacing Stability Rating

Percentage of rendered frames that completed within ±20% of the average frame time, indicating visual fluidity.

Tips

  • Keep this browser tab active and focused during testing to prevent browser power-saving frame rate throttling.
  • Use the Fullscreen toggle to maximize rendering viewport area and bypass desktop window compositing overhead.
  • On laptops, plug into AC power and set your operating system power mode to High Performance for unthrottled GPU clock frequencies.

Troubleshooting

Why is FPS capped at 60 or 144?

Browsers synchronize animation updates to your monitor's physical refresh rate via requestAnimationFrame. To test higher FPS, connect a high-refresh monitor or adjust your display settings.

The benchmark shows 'WebGL Context Lost'.

Your operating system's graphics driver exceeded its timeout detection threshold (TDR) or encountered memory pressure under extreme workload settings. Lower the geometric workload or render scale and retry.

Why doesn't this tool show GPU temperature?

Browser security sandboxes strictly prevent web pages from querying hardware temperature diodes or motherboard telemetry registers. Any website claiming to show temperature in a browser is fabricating numbers.
